We took a bus ride to visit Royal Botanic Garden as our last attraction to visit in Edinburgh. There are over three million specimens in the Herbarium, covering over 300 years of biodiversity and representing half to two thirds of the world's flora. The highlights include the Rock Garden, the Alpine Houses, Woodland Garden, Pond, the Arboretum of tree collection, the Chinese Hillside, the Rhododendron Collection and the Scottish Native Plants Collection in the Heath Garden.
First we got to the Rock Garden and it totally blew our mind away. It is so pretty and beautifully arranged, we just kept saying "Wow". We have visited many botanic gardens previously, most of them has one kind of plant or flower at one spot. Here, they just mixed every types of plants and flowers together and all of them are blossoming beautifully. We spent most of our time there and we even came back at the end to enjoy it one more time.
They other interesting part is the Chinese Hillside. It was built on a hillside with plants and streams running over it. The two red Chinese style bridges add more interesting to the whole area.
As of now, we can say this is the most beautiful botanic garden we have ever seen.
In the afternoon, we flew back to London for our 2nd part of the trip.
