We booked an early breakfast at Sky Garden Darwin Brasserie. We went there early and got a chance to look around from the 36th floor. Took many photos before we checked in with Darwin Brasserie.
We got there as the 1st group of visitors for that day, so we were lucky to get a window seat and it allowed us to enjoy the fresh brewed coffee paired with a choice of breakfast pastries, and to watch London awake as we soak in the idyllic garden surroundings and breath-taking views across the Thames. It was truly an exciting experience for us.
Then, we walked to the Tower Bridge for our pre-booked tower bridge tour. We passed by the Tower of London and witnessed the long line for getting into this attraction. Then we got some nice view of the Tower Bridge. More Kodak moments.
We started the tower bridge tour from the north side of the bridge, This modern concrete and steel structure we know today was opened to traffic in 1973. Tower Bridge, on the other hand, has never fallen down. It stands today as it was built in 1894. It is known as London's defining landmark - representing London as an iconic structure that is recognized the world-over. Our tickets allow us to discover the marvelous high-level "Walkways of Tower Bridge". Spanning the North and South Towers, the Walkways offer breath-taking panoramic views of London from 42 meters above the River Thames. There is a glass bottom walkway on top of the bridge which allows you to view the traffic below on the bridge. It was a very interesting experience.
Then, we got the chance to see the engine room with exhibitions of the lift, engines and hydraulic mechanic.
It was raining at the time when we finished our visit to the Tower Bridge, however, it did no stop us of walking in the rain along The Queen’s Walk. We got more photo opportunities for the Tower Bridge, the HMS Belfast, and the Sky Garden (across the River Thames).
We also walked across the London Bridge and there, we had to imitate Talia’s post when Jason’s family visited there in 2022.
Then, we went to Tate Modem to see this museum which we passed by several times and never got a chance to visit. This museum is very impressive from both outside and interior. However, the exhibitions there did not interest us. It was too extreme to us to see those anti-social art form. Therefore, we just browse through and did not enjoy it at all.
Next to Tate Modem there is The London Millennium Footbridge which is a 325m long suspension bridge which crosses the River Thames at Bankside on the Queen's Walk. Opened on June 10th 2000, the bridge links Tate Modern on the south bank with the City of London and St Paul’s Cathedral on the north bank.
Later, we moved to Borough Market to take a look. We learned about Borough Market from Youtube and just want to see it as our visit to one of London Markets. After was got there, then we realized that it is too crowed for us. There are a lot of food options to try, however, the amount of people there turned us off. We just got some food quickly and got out of there.
Since it was late afternoon, we just try our luck at the National Gallery in Trafalgar Square. However, the line was just too long for us to even try it. Therefore, we took photos with Trafalgar Square as backdrop and just went to the National Portrait. It was interesting, however, it still can not be compared to National Gallery with the paintings of Van Gogh or Monet.
